bodysurfing the hotpipe

Postby Tomdiddlybomb » Mon Mar 10, 2014 11:46 am

anybody tried bodysurfing high tide hotpipe? I've been wondering if it's doable with the gates in the way, looks like a potential to break some ribs to me, but also looks a lot of fun

I've thought about this as well but maybe taking the handplane out as well, in the end getting caught in the lip and then smashed onto the pipe put me off. But yeah, looks like it could be fun under the right conditions! Never tried it though, so my guess is as good as yours.

No matter how awful the wave at the west pier is, it would be a shame to lose it. It's obviously close to the hearts of the crew that surf it and it stops them spreading to the other not quite as crap spots. It's a bit of a fish sanctuary too and provides some interesting free-diving on those rare clear days.
