Does anyone know the impact of these 2 wind farms ( rampion and navitus ) on wave height reduction ? the news just informed us that they have declined the navitus wind farm because it was too close to bournemouth beach , this then could be moved further out past the top of the isle of white , then from what I can see it would directly be in the south westerly swell path that feeds witterings and east of there . should we be concerned ? the size of the wind farm looked enormous to me and looked like it could effect the swell . who knows what :?: :?:

Have a look at this thread about the Rampion windfarm: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=574&p=1010&hilit=Rampion#p1010
Basically, we called SAS in and they negotiated (helped by people on this board) with the windfarm promoters and the reduction on swell height was massively reduced. If the other windfarm is moved, SAS (and us) should be asking for the cumulative effects to be modelled. Worth keeping an eye on. Thanks for posting.
