Tomorrow with Kelly Slater...
Tomorrow (Tuesday 22nd October) I'll be attending a SAS Protect Our Waves briefing at the Houses of Parliament in representation of Brighton's surfers. In attendance will be key coastal MPs from around the country including Brighton's own Caroline Lucas, and some hotshot surfer called Kelly Slater, who will be addressing us all on the importance of the UK's waves for international surfing.
The purpose of Surfer's Against Sewage's Protect Our Waves campaign is to change legislation and laws to better protect our surf spots, so Brighton's past issues of threats to the Marina from development and all Brighton breaks from the Rampion wind farm will be avoided in the future.
The petition of around 55,000 will then be delivered to Downing Street by among others; SAS, Kelly and Ben Howard. It's essential that the petition has support from as many of Brighton's surfers as possible, so if you've not yet signed now's a last minute chance to do so... www.protectourwaves.org.uk
Cheers

Re: Tomorrow with Kelly Slater...
Thanks to everyone that signed the petition. We had over 55,000 signatures and a great turn out from MPs. Sadly Kelly had to bail last minute to concentrate on winning in Hawaii but even without him we definitely got the message across.
