Brighton and Adur Councils have just started consulting on the first stage of a strategy to manage coastal erosion between the mouth of the Adur and Brighton Marina. It includes the surf breaks from the west side of the Marina to Soldiers (and maybe Hollows - difficult to tell from the map).

A newsletter has been produced and it stresses the importance of the moving of shingle from the west side of the Adur to the east side that Shoreham Port Authority do. This keeps the beaches 'replenished' and prevents erosion and flooding. I suspect it also helps keeps the surfbreaks working.

The consultation says:
'Capturing your views on coastal issues, local knowledge and ideas are an important part of the Strategy.
If you have any information about incidences of erosion or flooding, information about properties and
infrastructure at risk or other local knowledge you think may be of interest, please contact us below.
