Shiiiiiit....Shoreham's Revenge
Anyone else get the shits after surfing today? I went out in the harbour early, it stank (as it often does) and I've had the 'Shoreham's revenge' all afternoon.
The storm outfall is marked on this map - I can easily imagine it coming back in, and anyway goodness knows what comes down the river...

Anyway, if you did fill out the SAS medical response form http://www.sas.org.uk/campaigns/sewage-and-sickness/medical-response/.
James - I wonder if this could go on the Sharkbait page along with the Environment Agency's pollution hotline number (0800 80 70 60)?
Aaron - any chance of getting Shoreham listed on the Sewage Alert Servicehttp://www.sas.org.uk/campaigns/sewage-and-sickness/sewage-alert-service/?

Re: Shiiiiiit....Shoreham's Revenge
We can't currently get Shoreham on the text alerts as Southern Water will only cover Blue Flag beaches, of which we have none in Brighton or its surrounds. There are about 4 CSO's in Shoreham Harbour which theoretically each go off around 12 times a year, which will be during/after periods of heavy rainfall. I say theoretically because they're not monitored and so nobody knows for sure how often they release raw sewage but 12 times a year is the estimate that Southern Water told me a couple of years ago when I met with them about Brighton's CSO's.
