WhaleFest is a family orientated festival at the Brighton Hilton Metropole Hotel, on 15th and 16th March 2014 and is supported by big names such as Chris Packham, Gok Wan and Steve Backshall.
Brighton hosts the world's biggest celebration of wild whales and dolphins – WhaleFest! It's for people who love whales and dolphins, those who know nothing about them, me, you, your gym instructor, everyone. It takes place at Brighton Hilton, the very place where the world's governments gathered in 1982 to suspend international whaling. In 1991 Brighton Aquarium's captive dolphins were freed back to their Caribbean home. The people of Brighton, 'London-by-the-sea', love these animals. We all do.
10 reasons to come to WhaleFest

We are currently in our 3rd year of surfacing global issues on oceanic welfare to the public. We bring together worldwide charities, businesses and individuals to promote ocean conservation, creating the mega charity, The World Cetacean Alliance, for 2 specific campaigns.
There are so many ways to get involved in WhaleFest itself. Join our procession to free orcas from circus shows in small tanks, or come to the event and be inspired by world experts, celebrities, and awesome whale experiences.
Currently there are approximately 50 orcas in captivity, and 500,000 dolphins, whales and porpoises killed annually in the world, due to fishing, even though there has been a lot of publicity about fishing techniques and change, these creatures have never needed our help more.
Help us set whales and dolphins free at WhaleFest 2014
At WhaleFest 2014, the World Cetacean Alliance (WCA) is asking you to play an important role as we attempt to free thousands of whales and dolphins. Together let's set them free with our Long Swim to Freedom campaign.
Long Swim to Freedom
Your voice has never been more important as we tackle two critically important issues:
Save the last 50 Maui's dolphins from extinction. Your support and involvement will be critical if we are to end the entanglement and death of New Zealand's critically endangered Maui's dolphins before it is too late.
Wild orca Morgan should be released. Morgan and thousands of other whales and dolphins currently 'imprisoned' and forced to perform in 'circus shows' for tourists entertainment deserve better lives. The BlackFish film proved that once people understand that whales and dolphins suffer in captivity they will not return to watch these shows. Together we will spread this important message until the tide of public opinion forces change.
What are we doing about it?
We are signing petitions to educate the government of what is happening and raising funds to educate authorities, local whale watching businesses and individuals how to fish sustainably, because it can be done; and to choose eco-friendly tours to encourage these dolphins to flourish once again.
